Technician

Reports to: Production Manager

Shipper / Receiver is a specialist position responsible for maintaining control of Macron raw material, work-in-process and finished goods inventories. The Shipper / Receiver performs material handling duties such as loading and unloading trucks and is also the company driver running routes to/from vendors and customers.

The Shipper / Receiver interfaces with Program Managers, Inventory / Buyer Specialists and Manufacturing Technicians in the execution of the role. The Shipper / Receiver prepares all shipping containers, crates and packages to protect the products and goods from damage during storage and shipment.

From a Quality Systems perspective Shipper / Receiver will be knowledgeable in the following business and manufacturing processes:

  • Overall quality policy
  • Job plans and Bill of Materials
  • Purchasing
  • Product protection and identification
  • Corrective and preventive action processes
  • Macron Workmanship standards

  • Inventory control
    • Cycle counting and physical inventories
    • “Bin fill” floor stock replenishment
  • Receiving processes
  • Product shipping
    • Packaging methods
    • Packing “slip” preparation
    • Transportation coordination
  • Teamwork
    • Project team and Committee membership
    • Kaizen – continuous improvement methodology
    • Fork lift certification
Experience requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-3 years Inventory management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Valid Driver’s License and driving record.
  • Candidate will have good communication skills and experience with ERP systems and computers.
