Macron Dynamics Introduces New Large-Scale X/Z Pick and Place Gantry Family to Linear Robotics Line

Macron has introduced a new line of heavy-duty X/Z linear robots to their line of linear robotics. The new UC gantry family consists of four pick and place linear robots and are designed for heavy payload pick and place functionality.

UC-1 Gantry
The UC-1 Gantry features a single X, single Z axes design, with acceleration up to 3 G’s and can withstand up to 25 lb.

CROYDON, PA — Macron Dynamics, Inc., a manufacturer of Linear Robotic motion systems and belt driven linear actuators, has recently introduced the UC gantry family, a new line of heavy-duty X/Z linear robots, to their product line. The UC gantry line consists of four pick and place linear robots, ranging in size from single X / single Z axes to dual X / dual Z axes and capable of moving heavy payloads in a growing number of large scale automation applications.

“As the demand for automation grows in all areas of production and packaging, Macron has created a line of stronger, scalable gantries to fit longer and heavier situations,” said Craig Marshall, Executive Vice President at Macron Dynamics. “Our UC gantry line features independently driven dual axes using our proven workhorse Macron 14 belt driven linear actuators.”

Macron’s new heavy duty X/Z linear robot line has been designed for heavy payload pick and place functionality, made possible by the integration of a new, stronger connection interface between the 2 axes. Varying in size and configuration to suit a range of uses, the UC gantries are available with 25mm and 50mm belts and feature both single and dual independently driven X and Z axes.

The new X/Z gantries are configured using heavy-duty MSA-14H actuators, the company’s most popular, flexible, and economical product to fit any length requirement. In comparison to popular articulated arm robots with limited reach and lifting capabilities, the Macron UC gantry line is designed to fit long distance linear traverse with heavy payload applications.

UC-4 Gantry
The UC-4 Gantry features a dual X, single Z axes design and can withstand the most weight of the entire X/Z heavy duty gantry robots at 250 lb.

“By introducing this robust line of X/Z gantries, we’ve set out to solve some very common large scale pick and place problems in the automation world,” said Marshall. “We’re making it possible to move what you want, wherever you want it, with enough options to meet a variety of payload capacities.”

The entire UC gantry line is adaptable with the Macron CLAWS™ free-fall protection system. Macron Dynamics linear robots are available preconfigured and preassembled at standard and custom travels, as well as custom designed by Macron engineers for a modular solution to any linear motion challenge.
