In this video, two MacBUILT dual independent belt drive units were piggybacked to provide actuation of 4 independently controlled carts. The carts were specifically modified for the application. This system was for a bottling line packaging operation where bottles were transferred and separated during the transfer process to provide programmable spacing or gap between products.

An inspection camera and lighting required a precise reciprocating tracking motion back and forth over a 2 meter length in less than 3 seconds. The ability to vary the speed of travel and control the position of the inspection camera while performing optical inspection was also needed during process development. The inspection module needed to be an add-on element to existing processing equipment. Structural beam strength, smooth motion, and independent “plug and play” controls were necessary.
